SKINC Supplement Bar, Regent Square @ Kiulap

Although Food Hungry has always been known as a food blog but I've always wanted to blog bout other stuffs..... something which is more towards lifestyle and traveling. But sadly to say, this would require more funds and currently I do not have the ability to afford it. Thus, if there is anyone who is generous enough to sponsor us, we'll be more than happy to do it! :P

Anyways, weeks ago I was invited by Brenda, the person in charge of SKINC to attend their award winning party at their outlet located at Kiulap Regent Square. It was a private party for their clients thus I felt very honored to be invited!

Just in case you don't know, SKINC is the world's first skin supplement bar which originates from Japan and honestly speaking, I was quite shocked to find out that there was a bar opening in Brunei during the first week of its establishment. Later then I found out that it was a 'skin supplement' bar and not the bar that sells alcoholic beverages, lol! In addition, SKINC has also received numerous awards and consistently being covered in several renowned magazines like Harper Bazaar, Nu You, Her World and so on.

I must say it is a very new concept and their product range is pretty different from other skin care brands as SKINC focuses more on pure and active serum and aims at bringing convenience to its clients. I know that not everyone is hardworking in maintaining daily facial regime. There are people that I know who don't use skin care products at all, not even facial cleanser. There are also people that I know who only use cleanser, toner and moisturizer. As for me, I guess I belong to the hardworking category because my daily skin care routine consists of at least 6 steps. Yes, at least 6 steps! Cleanser + toner + emulsion + moisturizer + pore minimizing essence + eye gel + sunblock (optional). And I have to repeat these steps at night and replace the last step with night mask.

It's tough and troublesome to be a female but like the Chinese proverb always says,
"There is no ugly woman in this world but lazy woman"

Therefore, I die die also have to be the hardworking woman lah!

But with SKINC bringing its new concept in town, things can change. Woman no longer have to endure those fussy steps in maintaining their daily skin care routine. With wide range of products available in SKINC, you can customize your own skin care serum that suits your skin with maximum results shown on your skin after using it. Instead of having different bottles of skin care products, you can have them all mixed in a bottle and just apply it twice per day. Now you get why is it called a bar! By mixing different serum into a bottle for your daily dose is just like a cocktail blend. If you're a person who travels a lot, this is definitely for you as it save lots of space in your luggage.

Upon arrival, I was welcomed by Brenda and given a brief tour. I was very impressed with SKINC's interior design. It's very minimalistic and with white as the base color of the theme, it allowed those colorful supplement bottles to stand out and this combination turn out to be pretty interesting and artistic. There is even a lounge area with circular couch where clients are able to sit there and relax.

There were few rooms available for the facial treatment and one of it was meant for two. In other words, if you wanna have facial treatment done with your mom or daughter or friend, you're able to do it. Just remember to make a appointment with SKINC in advanced to avoid disappointment as there is only one 2-beds room available.

After touring the outlet and being briefed on SKINC products, immediately I made an appointment for their signature facial treatment and had it done last Saturday. Before the facial treatment started, I was asked to fill in a questionnaire which the questions were all regarding the condition of my skin. After answering the questions, the system would analyse my current skin condition and several recommendations were listed. As the maximum number for combination of serums is three, I choosed to have the combination of Hyaluronic Acid serum + Placenta serum + Vitamin C serum.

I must say it was sooooooo awesome! After the facial I felt that my skin revived and started to breathe again! The reason why I felt that is because I don't have the habit of pampering myself with facial service even though I am pretty hard working in keeping my daily facial routine and I do know that this is not enough. Another reason is also because every time after facial, my face would turn red due to the extraction step (it's like squeezing to remove black heads, pimples and etc) and it was really painful. But this time I didn't find it pain at all and Vivian (the beautician who served me) even praised me for my level of endurance haha! Well, I would say that's probably Vivian has a pair of magic hands ;)

Similar to normal facial, the facial treatment in SKINC also consists of steps like cleansing, extraction, moisturizing and etc. But what makes it different from others are the two important steps which are Oxy Miracle Peel and Oxy Miracle Infusion. These are something which you can't possibly get it from other beauty saloons. It basically unclogs the skin pores, exfoliates the dead skin and letting the skin breathe again. Not only this, it also helps in hydrating the skin and brighten it by keeping its radiance so that it won't look dull. The outcome was amazingly good and I was really satisfied! Face didn't look red at all and it was much cleaner than before. Other than these, Vivian also helped me in trimming my eyebrows and she even gave me a head and shoulder massage after the treatment. The whole process for the facial treatment lasted for 1 hr and 45minutes.

I might not be good in describing and also explaining the full process but I sincerely think that this is really worth trying. It is always necessary to pamper yourself once in awhile to make yourself happy and relax after a hard time in playing each role in your life. Life is short, so enjoy while you still can!

skinc-1
SKINC has been covered by Harper Bazaar for several times.

skinc-2
Love those rainbow color bottles!

skinc-3
These are 'My daily dose' bottles and each of it is 20ml.

skinc-4
The bottles lined in the first row are SKINC renowned encapsulated serums and each color represents different functions. Example, the blue bottle is Hyaluronic acid serum which is meant for dehydrating skin and green bottle is Collagen serum which helps in soothing wrinkles and ageing skin. These colorful capsules help in keeping the active ingredients pure and fresh and at the same time protecting it from harmful UV rays and oxidation.

skinc-5
These three bottles are ready mixed with serums and each consist of different functions like the blue one is for dehydrated skin, green consists of brightening supplement while red one is for anti-ageing. Each bottle is 30ml.

skinc-6
These are another range of products which are also available at the local outlet.

Mei Wee Seafood Restaurant @ Aroi Food court, Yayasan Complex

Just before you think this blog is dead, here is an update to tell you that is it NOT :P

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The other day Hubby was craving to have seafood for dinner and initially he thought of going to Tamu Selera for that. But somehow, he thought that I was slightly overdressed and thought that it would be much better if we could go to better place for seafood.

However, it still took us awhile before making final decision of going to Mei Wee for seafood as there aren't much choices of restaurants when it come to seafood. The reason why we ended up choosing Mei Wee out of all restaurants which we could thought of was because we have not tried it yet and we thought it might be cheaper.

For your information Mei Wee Seafood Restaurant is located at Aroi Food court, Yayasan Shopping Complex. It occupied few stalls in the food court so it is quite impossible to miss it. There were many choices of seafood available and mostly still alive so freshness is guaranteed. However if you prefer frozen seafood, they also have it too.

There were just so many types of seafood available which made us scratching our heads thinking what should we order. Then the waitress informed us that the restaurant was having a promotion on their fish dish which cost only $15 and we could choose the type of cooking method that we prefer. So we choosed something like "Thai Style Steam Fish" and other dishes were, Minced Chicken with Beancurds, Soft-shelled Crab with salted egg and Oyster Omelet.

Okie, here is the review. We were quite disappointed with our food. We ordered only 1 soft-shelled crab and it was really just plainly average. We have tried few local restaurants that serve soft-shelled crab and this was the worse one I must say. As for the Thai style Steam Fish, I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be served warm-cold or what, it was not serve hot. I thought it was supposed to be a hot dish out but it seemed like it was already prepared, placed there for quite some time before being served on our table. It tasted kinda bad as the dish had already turned cold and what's more it's a fish dish. Nothing much to say on the Oyster Omelet and Minced Chicken with Bancurds; still acceptable.

The total bill was between $40-45 and we received a free bracelet, cool~ But I don't think I would wanna make a return visit within short period.

Random ver.001

This blog is so dead X.X
WAP and my laziness to bring out my camera everywhere I go have made me lacked of determination to keep this blog updated at least thrice per week.
Anyways, I am back to revive this blog! *round of applause*
This entry is not a food review entry but an update of the random stuffs happened in my life last month. I do hope I'll have the opportunity to do some new restaurant reviews soon though and it also depends on how hardworking am I as WAP is coming to an end soon, I need to finish writing the bloody 10,000 words report asap.

Sunday afternoon, rain was falling... @ Country Patch, Kiulap

After my family day, I gave my best buddies a call to ask them out for afternoon tea session just to chillax~

Lots of funny incidents happened on that day which kinda upset SKY due to how bad Shin and I had been treating him hahahaha! Small gas lar you!

Anyway, it had been awhile since I last visited Country Patch and I was pretty surprised to see certain changes had been done to the cafe for which the most obvious one would be the transformation of non-air conditioned dining area to indoor.

Although I am not a regular customer of Country Patch but I must say that I really love the ambience! Too bad the high tea set was only available for week days thus I was not able to try it :( Hopefully, after WAP I'll have more free time so that I can try it out!
