Father's Day Brunch at Brunei Hotel's Choices Restaurant

When it comes to occasions like Mother's day and Father's day, it's kinda like a 'big' thing in my family. Some might think that these two occasions are just like another normal Sunday but it is not in our family. Every Sunday is our family day and my parents value it a lot. It's actually a tradition which we never break it before and hopefully it will sustain till our future generations.

To my surprise, this year's Father's day promotions were even lesser than last year! I mean.. wow, it was already pretty pathetic last year when I was trying to find a good place to bring my family but this year was even worse. Unsure what are the reasons behind it but it somehow made me thinking that people actually don't think celebrating Father's day is as meaningful as Mother's day? Or perhaps there are some other reasons which related to the business strategies or marketing?

Anyhow, I found out that Choices Restaurant at the newly relaunched The Brunei Hotel was having promotion on that day. In addition, I've always seen people posting up pictures of them dining in Choices Restaurant on Twitter so I guess it should be a pretty decent place for me to bring my family there for celebration.

The buffet cost $16.80 nett for adult. There weren't much varieties of food available but overall, it was pretty good for $16.80 already plus the service was really good. When I was making reservation days before Father's day, I inquired the staff if it is possible to redeem the parking ticket if we were to park our car at the multi-stories car park but the staff offered to reserve a parking spot for me right in front of the hotel's main entrance for free. And also, I was bringing two bags on that day (my handbag and camera bag) thus I had to place one of my bags on the floor. The caring staff immediately placed a 'laundry basket' next to my seat so that I could place my bags in it together with mom's bag without dirtying it. Really helpful and caring!

Food wise, I would say it was just average but like I said, $16.80 is considered cheap especially on occasion like Father's day. Thus I would say it was worth it. But if you prefer for buffet with more varieties of food, this is definitely not what you're looking for. One thing I dislike is their laksa, it didn't tasted like laksa at all so they seriously need to improve it.

Oh, we were also entitled to have a free cake and I was really surprised to see that it was a slice of cake not a whole cake haha! Anyhow, the overall dining experience was pretty satisfied :D
