Ramadhan Stall at Stadium

Hubby and I, together with SKY paid a visit to Gerai Ramadhan located at National Stadium on the very first day of Ramadhan which I find that the gerai Ramadhan here has got more varieties of food available compared to other gerai in BSB. And it's hugeee that it contained two areas where one serve usual food such as cucur, noodles and etc. Meanwhile, the other area serve mostly grilled food such as chicken wings, chicken tails, grilled fishes and etc.

It's also this time of every year that you can get to taste food that might only be available once a year. For example the popular Burger Kapow which is popular for its sinfully thick home made burger meat patty. I have yet to try out the burger cause the queue was so loooong when I wanted to purchase it.. so tempting larrrr~

Weather was really hot and sunny when we visited it at about 3.15pm in the afternoon. Many people were seen using umbrella as a shield from the bright sun. However, people still flocked to visit the gerai despite the weather cause it only happens once a year! Thus, if you haven't visit it yet, do visit it soon!

T.T.Blues Sungkai Buffet

Date: 23rd Aug 2010

Venue: T.T.Blues Cafe, Gadong (same row as Unitek)

Price: $9.90 per adult

Tel: 2424527

Review:

Visited T.T.Blues Cafe with fellow course mates on Monday for their sungkai buffet. We actually planned to go some where else but upon reading some positive feedback, we decided to give it a try.

I would say that the dishes served were rather common. But still, I do understand that it's considered worth for being able to have beef, lamb chop, prawns by paying $9.90 per pax. The dishes served were Corn soup, some appetizers like ulam, penne salad, curry chicken, grilled lamb chop, butter egg prawns and etc. And the management did refill the food so don't worry much if you arrive late than usual sungkai hour. Assorted malay kueh and fruits were also served as well as ice cream!

Food for thought

Guess some of you might have been aware of the recent spark happened between a Singaporean restaurant named Private Affairs and one of the most popular (and also one of my favourite!) food bloggers in Singapore.

I won't make any comment regarding this matter but I do find that the recent article written by Xia Xue regarding this matter is really worth reading.

Le' Taj Sungkai Buffet Promotion

Date: 21st Aug 2010

Venue: Le' Taj Restaurant, Kiulap (above CoffeeZone).

Price: $14.80 per adult

Tel: 2340000

Review:

When Hubby heard from his friend that Le' Taj is offering Sungkai buffet, we felt tempted to give it a try as it's one of our favourite restaurants. We made reservation for dinner at 7pm and when we arrived there, the restaurant was already packed with many patrons who were there for the buffet too.

After the waitress lead us to our seats, immediately we went to check out what dishes were on the buffet line. Most of the trays were almost emptied but the waitress assured that food would be refilled. There were few stations for appetizers, main courses, fruits and desserts. There was also a station where a chef pan-frying roti kosong. Free flow of Air Bandung was included in the buffet.

The menu for the main courses included Fish Manchurian, Nasi Briyani, Mixed Vegetables, Chicken Masala, Tandoori Chicken and many more. Not to forget, Lamb shank was served in the buffet line too as well as a pasta dish and pizza.

The buffet is worth trying if you're a fan of Indian cuisine and I would suggest you guys to make reservation to avoid any disappointment. And also try to arrive there early so that you don't have to wait for the refills.
