Flavours, Gadong (next to Little Bean Electrical Store)

Laptop is acting naughty again! Having troubles turning it on and I was halfway editing pictures of KK trip when it failed on me. Bad Saturday morning >.<

Forget bout my unfortunate experience and I should called myself lucky that I managed to upload some pictures taken during my second visit to Flavours before laptop failed.
Seriously, having dined twice in Flavours, I wouldn't say their food is really great but it's a nice place to dine with its atmosphere.
And their set meals are really worth to order especially for big families.
I would still regard it as a good place for "lim teh" as their drinks are quite nice such as Java Float.

Baked Chicken Rice ordered by SKY. He commented that the rice was too dry but the chicken was served in generous portion and tasty.

Teriyaki Chicken Rice *I think* ordered by Joyce. She didn't quite like it.

Fish and chips ordered by Hwa. We were surprised by its presentation as we all thought a big piece of fish fillet would be served instead of what's shown in the picture above. Doesn't it looks like kid's meal?

flavours2-11
Kerabu. Ho Wee ordered this by mistaken. He actually thought Top Shell would be one of the ingredients in this Kerabu but there wasn't any. But overall it was quite tasty.

flavours2-12
I ordered a quarter chicken served with mushroom sauce, green vegies and mashed potato. Ir tasted quite nice but there is still improvements on the mushroom gravy as I thought it was a little sweeter.

Healthy Burgers at Millenium Fast Food, Beribi

Time table is almost settled and assignments/tasks are slowly pouring in.
Started to feel a little stressful after knowing there are few deadlines in February (which is also the month of CNY 2010! arrrggghhhh!).
I could imagine stuffing my head down reading books or staring at screen doing research and reports during CNY.
Eeeeeeeeee~ not fun.
Okie lar, below are pictures of "Healthy Burgers" from Millenium Fast Food.
I've heard bout their "Healthy Burgers" for ages but never bother to try out and the other day while I was dining in Millenium Restaurant, I bumped into Boh and Lun and they were dining in Millenium Fast Food.
I noticed two yummy looking burgers on their table and quickly stopped them from munching and took out my camera and started to snap away hahaha
Boh and Lun claimed that they often visit Millenium Fast Food for their burger and usually they would opt for the set meal instead of just the burger. They said its more worth to go with set.
I don't know how yummy is it (as I just finished the lunch buffet so there is no more room in my tummy haha) but the two guys seemed really satisfied and from their expressions, I could tell that the burgers are really tasty which is making me wanna try it out one day!

Pehin Lau's Diamond Wedding Anniversary

Hubby and I was honored for being invited to attend Pehin Lau's Diamond Wedding Anniversary weeks ago and it was held at Manggis Ballroom.
It was one of the great wedding function that I've attended and it was really grand!
Instead of taking lift to the highest floor where the ballroom locates, we were asked to stop on 4th floor and walked up to the ballroom so that we could enjoy the performance by a group of Chinese orchestra performers.
When we entered the ballroom, the atmosphere was really lively!
Every guests seemed really happy and the ballroom was really red. For Chineses, red stands for a very auspicious color, thus, this explains the red theme.
Food was great as well and it was my first time trying "Oolong Tea Prawns", very unique indeed although the prawns was marinated with too much pepper.
Overall, it was a great dinner with good food and entertainment. We were able to enjoy the Chinese orchestra performance by a group of students from Miri and also dance performances ^^

De'tymz Cafe, Kiulap

Before new semester had started, the Rainbow team members had a gathering at De'tymz Cafe which is located in Kiulap (it's below Bakerlyn cafe).
For your information, De'tymz Cafe is currently under a new management so do expect more promotions coming up!
From what I know, De'tymz does have 10% discount card but I'm unsure about the requirements of getting the card. If you're a frequenter to De'tymz, do inquire their staffs on how to obtain the card.
One of the reasons that made me like this place is their wide varieties of drinks selection that range from a simple cup of coffee to special drinks like mocktails and many more. And some drinks are even named with unique names which make you feel curious and wanted to try them all! Just like you never knew that 'Shirley Temple' has got a 'Shirley Sisterz' haha
Other than beverages, there are quite a number of varieties on their food menu such as sandwiches, snacks, steaks and even Asian cuisine like fried noodles and butter milk chicken rice.
Although De'tymz might not be that spacious but still I find it really cozy to dine there or have some tea break especially with a few friends. It's definitely another good 'lim teh' spot for people and they do have an outdoor area as well.

I need good lucksssssssssss

As the title reads, Lady Luck has not been with me lately and some of you might have learnt bout my bad experiences through facebook.
My laptop 'almost' K.O (Cause I still managed to on it after I posted this on my facebook status so I said 'almost'. And of course, after several attempts of trying to boot the laptop).
Then few days later, I woke up to my horror and found that my closet was broken. I had to take out my clothes stack by stack in order to pick the clothes that I wanted to wear. No kidding. But I considered myself lucky for being able to fix the closet *phew*
A day after that, bro's pc was infected with virus. We managed to format it ourselves but still had drivers problem and that is making the pc unable to produce sound and connect to internet.
This morning, I tried to on my laptop and same thing happened again. Just couldn't get it booted even after like 30-40 attempts. KEK SI.
So I brought it to computer store for checking and two technicians advised me to get new laptop as repairing it would cost me $500++
Now, I officially announce the death of my cute laptop =(
Arrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby's 24th Birthday Dinner

During Hubby's birthday, we had dinner at Kimchi Restaurant which is located in Kiulap.
Kimchi was having the All-you-can-eat BBQ promotion during the night we visited but we didn't opt for that as we didn't wanna eat that much.
We had Kimchi spring roll which Hubby and I both think that the size for each spring roll has been reduced but it used to serve 4 spring roll per serving so I guess it's still fair.
We also had Dakgogi and Kimchi Dolsotbap.
I must say that Kimchi has got really friendly staffs with superb attitude. Their captain even kindly helped us mixed the dolsotbap then divided into four bowls so each of us could enjoy the rice easier. Really helpful.
Other than that we also ordered Bibim Naeng Myun (buck wheat cold noodles and obviously, it's served cold) and Haemul Pa Jeon, the seafood pancake.
I personally like the cold noodles a lot but I also feel that it's kinda expensive as it costs $12 per bowl and the serving is really little.
As for their pancake, I would suggest the chef to fried it a little bit longer to add crispiness to the pancake. This would taste a lot better.
Before I forget, a tip to all of you who are visiting Kimchi soon, their side dishes are refillable and they wouldn't charge extra cent on you.
Another reason to visit Kimchi again haha and I must say dining in Kimchi always give me good experience (although I've only visited it thrice) because they have a group of well trained staffs that really make you feel comfortable. They are really friendly, caring and thoughtful.
And I do agree that some times it's not the taste of the food that should be prioritized when judging a restaurant or cafe.
If you do not have a trained crew who serve your customers right, your customers might not feel right tasting your food as they are already unhappy with the service.
This is just one of the very few thoughts that I have had since the opening of the new restaurants and cafes lately.
Hopefully the managements of these newly opened restaurants and cafes can learn something from the successful examples especially in our local food industry and survive~ !

p/s: How could I forget to mention that SKY (da BFF!) had spent his precious time and effort hand made an Iphone birthday card for Hubby (all of us know that it was his dream phone and I think he has new target recently haha). It was really thoughtful of him! Thanks a lot bro!
