Recipe: Baked Mushrooms with stuffed Spinach

italianjob-4

Ingredients:-

Philadephia Cream cheese, frozen spinach, bacon, large wild mushrooms, chopped fined garlic, butterand cheese powder (read 'Extra note' for more information).

Directions:-
  1. Cut the bacon into smaller pieces.
  2. Preheat the oven.
  3. Remove the mushrooms stems and arrange the caps properly on baking tray. Bake for 5 minutes then remove from oven.
  4. Boil the frozen spinach until it is soften. Drain the spinach and set aside.
  5. Melt butter and stir fry the garlic, bacon and spinach. Add in cream cheese. The amount of cream cheese is to be tasted.
  6. Fill the mushroom caps with the cooked spinach mixture. When it’s done, you can sprinkle some cheese powder on top.
  7. Baked the mushroom for 10 – 15 minutes using low heat of 150degrees (when you first bake the mushrooms, its juice would come out thus just bake until the juice is ‘almost’ dry up; not totally dry up!).

Extra note:

  • Philadephia Cream cheese can be found in most local supermarkets, frozen spinach can be found in Supasave. Same goes to large mushrooms, it can also be bought from Supasave. We choosed to use the 'white' wild mushrooms.
  • To Muslims readers, you can replace the bacon with chicken meat.
  • To avoid wastage, you can chop the mushroom stems into smaller pieces after removing it from the mushroom. Then fry together with the spinach mixture (Step 5). We were also preparing Mushroom Soup on that night thus we added the mushroom stems in the soup instead.

Happy cooking!
