KK & TAIPEI TRIP (14th-20th Jul 2010) - SAYLOVE HOTEL (TW) Review

After I had confirmed my tickets, immediately I started doing research on Taipei hotels and decided to stay within the Taipei Main Station area as suggested by most travel forums. Then I stumbled across this hotel called Saylove Hotel in one of the travel forums and decided to find out more details about it.

I tried to search for reviews on this hotel but there weren't much as this hotel was still new. Nevertheless, we still decided to give it a try especially after we visited its website as from the pictures shown, we could tell that it would be a pleasant hotel (and we were right!). Another reason why we choosed this hotel was because there were 3 of us so we wanted to get a triple room. At first we were considering Cosmos Hotel but it was too expensive. Then we found out Saylove does have triple rooms and charged at a cheaper rate thus we choosed there.

Reservation procedure:-
Online hotel booking websites such as Agoda and Asiaroom did not partner with Saylove Hotel so we had to make reservation through the hotel's website. After choosing the dates, we received the email from the hotel and were asked to fill in the credit card authorisation form. The hotel online reservation system did not accept any payment from us which in other words, you pay when you arrive the hotel (either using credit card or cash). However, to secure our reservation, the hotel management requested us to send them copy of our credit card and also filling an authorisation form and send back to them. The hotel management also phoned us the next day after we reserved the room to explain to us some of its hotel policy such as cancellation and etc. And a day or two before you checked in their hotel, they would phone again to confirm your stay. If you think online booking is too hassle, you may try to reserve room through phone call.

As I mentioned the room we stayed was Triple room and it consisted of 1 queen sized bed and 1 single bed. The room wasn't that big but it had ample walking space. The amenities provided were 3 sets each. For example: 3 big and small towels, 3 soaps, 3 toothbrushes kit and many more including the breakfast coupons.

The room was equipped with a lcd television which had lots of channels (up to 80+ channels if my memory serves me right). The room did not have any closet. It did have hair dryer, water boiler and a small fridge. And mineral water was provided too.

I wasn't sure if the hotel provide any wifi-service or not but they do have 2 desktops placed in their lobby. Those desktops were there for guests to use. But no chairs were provided.

The breakfast selection was poor which disappointed us a lot. They do have a pond for fish spa in the restaurant but we didn't get to try it.

Overall, we had pleasant stay with this hotel due to its wise location, nice room and friendly staffs! The receptionist was a really cute girl!

Hi Valentina!

From as far as I could still remember, I did photocopy 2 sides of my credit card to them. At first I was pretty worried about it and I do agree that it was a bit unsafe but fortunately, everything went smooth.

I did not request for pick up from airport to hotel but I think they do provide such service. However, I did rent a van through the hotel management when I was leaving the hotel to airport at certain charges.

Hope these help! :)
