And it had been years since my last visit to Tafu Restaurant until recently, Hubby brought me there to try out their food.
We visited the restaurant during lunch time and the restaurant was fully occupied, we were considered lucky to have grabbed seats.
The restaurant was renovated thus it's slightly different from the images that I've seen when I visited it years ago.
Walls are painted red and Chinese ornaments are used as decorations in the restaurant which show traditional Kopitiam feel as well as tad bit of modern feel by using daring red color.
Tafu does serve economic rice and I seriously feel that most of the prepared dishes look tasty to me. And there are also some pork dishes displayed on the food cabinet such as "Yam braised pork 芋头扣肉" and "Salted vegie braised pork 梅菜扣肉".
Those food are cooked but you would need to wait awhile for the staffs to reheat it before served.
Hubby ordered a plate of Yam Braised Pork, 2 types of vegetable dishes chosen from the display food cabinet and lotus rice.
I really love the Yam Braised Pork, the sauce tasted really good! It's sweet and goes really well with the braised pork and yam. It's definitely a must try!
The lotus leaf rice's serving is enough to serve about 2-3 persons and the fragrance of the rice will make you keep wanting more of it!
This visit to Tafu Restaurant had indeed made me feel like it's a hidden gem in that area and I highly recommend you guys to try it out ;)
