Hot Point, The Mall

I visited Hot Point Cafe & Restaurant with my mom in last March after Jessica told me bout her visit to the restaurant.
She was really satisfied with her dining experience in Hot Point and so was I.
Staffs were helpful in recommending you their signature dishes and trying to answer your questions.
The restaurant is quite spacious with green as their theme color (well, i think it was left behind by the previously operated restaurant, Fusion Restaurant before it was sold).
It even have open-air area for patrons who prefer to sit outside, enjoying Gadong's non stop traffic jamming scene.
Mom, being very indecisive (as usual) at what to order for lunch ended up ordering herself a plate of Seafood Fried Rice which cost $3.50 per plate.
And I was in the mood to try out their Chicken Baked Rice as I thought it's kinda cheap at $4.80 per plate.
Well, the food was alright, not too bad for a newly opened restaurant and it did awe me when I first tried it. But later, it made me unsure if ordering baked rice was a bad choice because while I was still left with 30% in finishing my food, I already felt a tad sick of the cheesy rice taste. Probably I should have it served with the red sauce instead.
As for the Seafood Fried Rice, I didn't hear any complain from mom so I guess it was good.
There are a lot more food items on the menu which I've yet to try but surely will make another visit to the restaurant again in future.

I went there last night and ordered the lamb shank (according to the waitress, one of their signature dish), baked fish rice & beef steak. The lamb shank was a bit bland, even with the mushroom sauce. But for $13.90, it's quite worth it, cuz it's huge and comes with mash potato and buk choy (which I think is a weird choice). Their mash was made with sour cream and at first I thought it had gone bad (sakai!). The baked did not have as much sauce as yours. It was just basically fried rice with fried fish pieces topped with cheese. Overall, I would say the food there is just average in taste, but good in presentation & the service is waaay better than pizza hut.
