1) Woke up at 9am, got ourselves prepared and ready to have breakfast with Cousin Ping Ping and the little, adorable Jocelyn. She is one smart girl and beware to be bombed with endless questions when you meet her! She can ask about anything and that explains why she is such a knowledgeable girl at the age of 5 haha
Jocelyn hugging tight to the Pringles which Hubby bought her.
2) Cousin Ping Ping brought us to a Chinese Kopitiam that serves one of the most popular and must eat local delicacy which is KK's Kolo Mee aka "Sheng Rou Mian". I've blogged bout my first experience on having KK's Kolo Mee in year 2008 and I was really "sua ku", lol! Just in case any of you guys did not know.. KK's Kolo Mee is really different from Brunei's Kolo Mee because the noodles they used is thicker than the one that is being used in Brunei. Other than that, the soy sauce that they used for seasoning the noodles is thick soy sauce which the noodles is presented in dark color. The noodles and its ingredients are separated. There is no char siew topping on your Kolo Mee. Instead, another bowl of soup which contains fish balls, meat balls, minced meat, vegie and etc would be served together with the noodles. It's really unique and it would make you really full when you finished one bowl of noodles with one bowl of soup.
Another must try is their Steamed Tofu which the people there called it "Bai Tofu". It can be found in most of the Kopitiams that serve "Sheng Rou Mian" as KK-ians have the habit of ordering "Bai Tofu" with "Sheng Rou Mian".
I'm unsure about the name and location of this Kopitiam that I visited but it is NOT in KK Town. This kopitiam was located somewhere in Penampang I guess.. it's actually quite hidden as it located within the residential area.
3) Hubby and I decided to spend our second day in KK shopping in KK's town area. Having shopping for hours, our tummies were already 'complaining'. Thus, we decided to try out Fish & Co. at Warisan Square and it was a wrong decision.
There weren't much selections from the menu. And I thought Fish & Chips is their signature dish so I should order it and I did; I had New York Fish & Chips. Hubby decided to try out their set meal that comes with soup of the day. He had Teriyaki Salmon as his main course. We were really surprise when the soup was served as we didn't expect the restaurant to serve Szechuan soup. Seriously, we were expecting Cream of Mushroom soup or Tomato Soup but this is kinda different from our thoughts.
We could tell that the Szechuan soup was actually those instant type and the fish & chips was really oily in my opinion. It took me hard time to actually finish it. We ended up spending RM62 on this meal which wasn't worth to us.

Pink Passion RM5.90

Soft drink that came with the complete set

Szechuan Soup

New York Fish and Chips $16.90

Teriyaki Salmon, complete set = RM23.90 + RM6.50

4) Dinner at Upperstar. Since the first day that we arrived KK and met Kiat, he had been asking us whether have we heard bout Upperstar or tried it out.
So we asked him, "Is Upperstar's food really thaaaaaaaaaaat good since you keep introducing it to us?"
Kiat calmly replied, "ermmmmm the food, not bad but also not that nice".
Kek Dao to the maxxx.
But still, Hubby and I decided to try it out since Kiat made it sound like Upperstar is another must visit restaurant in KK. Therefore, Kiat brought us to Upperstar's Lintas branch.
Hubby and I was amazed by it's atmosphere when we arrived. It was really lively!
The restaurant was filled with diners and we really wanted to sit in the air-conditioned area but there wasn't any seats available thus we had to sit in smoking area :(
But that didn't turn us off :D
We noticed there were numbers of diners ordering alcoholic drinks and upon checking the prices of those drinks on the menu, we were kinda surprised. It was really cheap! But we didn't order any lar since we already planned to visit Ice Bar after dinner.
We asked Kiat for his recommendations and he suggested us to try out the lamb chop.
In the end, we ordered Lamb Chop with Upperstar sauce, Baked Seafood pasta, Baked Mushroom soup and Bruschetta bread.
The Bruschetta bread was too dry and we didn't like it. It was over baked.
As for the Mushroom soup and Seafood Pasta, both was tasty and the pasta was cheeeeesy which we loike!
I was shocked when the lamb was served on our table as I seriously did not expect to enjoyed 3 big pieces of lamb chop at the price of RM13.70. Side dishes like chips and salad were served with the lamb chop too! That's a really good bargain I tell you. I won't compare it with Brunei cause it's kinda unfair due to lotsa factors but even in KK, it's hard to get that kind of price in most restaurants that serve Western cuisine.
Some people might think cheap stuff doesn't comes with good quality but this is so different in Upperstar.
Not only for Rm13.70 we got to enjoy big portion of lamb chop, it actually tasted heavenly delicious! That made Hubby and I blaming Kiat for his "not bad but not that nice" comment cause the food tasted really really yummylicious to us.
If you are going to visit KK, do visit Upperstar and I'm sure you're gonna like it!
Upperstar has got few branches and there is one located in KK town which is near to Hyatt Hotel.
The address of the branch that we visited is: Lot 97, 98 & 99, Ground Flr, Lintas Plaza, Phase 2C. Contact number: 088-233636.

Look at the crowd! This is just part of the people in the restaurant.

Coffee that accompanied Kiat throughout the dinner

Bruschetta RM6.95

Mushroom Soup RM5.95

Mushroom Soup

Baked Seafood Pasta RM7.95

Lamb Chop with Upperstar Sauce RM13.70

5) After dinner, it's clubbing time! Bet most you have heard bout Ice Bar which is located in 1Borneo. It's a newly opened bar and its theme is blue and white and the interior is chic designed. Although it's called Ice Bar but it wasn't what I've thought initially (like glass made out of ice and etc). It's only uniqueness is that it has a small room which is in really low air temperature but it's only open to access when one has purchased their special drink. It was Wednesday night during our visit (aka Ladies night) thus I received free drink coupon.
When we arrived the bar, CJ, QJ, SL, Max, HW, Vincent, CY, Mad, Jason were all already there (yeap, we went to KK on the same day but they took flight and we chosed to travel by car). It's always nice to meet close friends in foreign city and what's more we were clubbing together!
Since there were four of us who got the drink coupons thus we were allowed to redeem for a bottle of alcohol and we were given Absolut. Once again, it was another good bargain!

CY, SL and Max

Before I arrived, the guys had already ordered a bottle of Smirnoff *thumbs up*

Absolut Vodka that we got it for free *Whee!*
Hubby also ordered a bottle of Corona and it tasted really good and smooth and it didn't have the strong taste which other beer beverages have.

HW, CJ and Mad inquiring the bartender regarding the shot drinks

That's the Ice Room which wasn't that fascinating after all

The guys made decision and ordered few shots of flaming B52. I didn't try it out but it smelt just like Bailey's Caramel flavour and looks like Teh C Special Panas hahahaha

Max enjoying B52

CJ ordered a BIG glass of cocktail drink for us young ladies ^^
That's how we ended our day 2 in KK. Stay tune for Day 3 and 4 :P
Hunnie Signing Off~
