Study group at Lil Hub

In November, my course mates and I visited Lil Hub many times for group discussion regarding the video project as well as group revision.
It's quite a nice place to hang out, especially their wi-fi connection. It's superb!
Lil Hub is located in Kiarong, same row as Top Bake =)

Flavours, Gadong (next to Little Bean Electrical Store)

Author says,
A friend of my was featured in a local music video making and I was impressed with the outcome so I feel like to share it here (Evon, hope you don't mind ^^). The song is really nice lar!

Flavours is a new restaurant in the local food industry which has just opened its door to the public recently. It's located next to Little Bean Electrical Company which is easily spotted as it's near to the road that leads to the central Gadong.

In conjunction with the restaurant's soft opening, Flavours is having a promotion which any meal order that is $5 or above are eligible to enjoy a free drink at your own choice. It is a good bargain as most of the drinks on the menu are like $3 per glass.

Flavours also serve set meals which are suitable for big groups like 5-6 people and it seems really worth. Maybe I shall give it a try next time.
Other than that, Flavours not only serve Western food like sandwiches, steaks and etc. It also serve rice dishes as well as ala carte dishes like Curry Fish Head and etc.

Mom ordered herself Buttermilk Chicken Rice and when it was served, I thought the serving was quite pathetic. She also commented that the buttermilk sauce was kinda sweet to her liking.
Bro on the other side, ordered himself a plate of Chicken Chop rice and the portion was really little to me. He didn't comment bout the food bout I could tell that he didn't enjoy it much.
I ordered Sweden Chicken Rice, I think. Actually I don't quite remember what I ordered and I've lost the receipt =S
But I can say that it tasted just like soy sauce chicken and the meat was kinda hard to chew. Same as what I've mentioned, the portion was kinda little. I was only given 4 small pieces of chicken meat.
Or maybe it's just that the plates that the restaurant uses are too big LOL.

Oh we also ordered Fried Wantan and mom said that it was yummy and I do agree but I would like to suggest the restaurant to come up with a special sauce/gravy to eat with the fried wantan as I remembered we were only provided mayonaise. It would be a good if the restaurant can take this as consideration.

Overall, it was a good dining experience as the workers are friendly especially this one female waitress who has good attitude while serving us ^^

Chempaka Restaurant

It's been awhile since my last visit to Chempaka Restaurant. And all of sudden, Hubby suggested to visit it last night.
The restaurant was quite occupied and we waited quite awhile for our food to come but it was worth the wait.
We entered the restaurant with hunger but left with full satisfaction (our tummies were gonna exploded!).
Guess we shall never order that much for 2 persons haha
However, we didn't manage to take any pictures last night cause I forgot to bring my camera and Hubby was really hungry after whole day work. So, to pity him I decided not to take the food pics although I had N95 with me.
Not to let my fellow readers upset, I'm sharing the old pictures which I took during my previous visit to the restaurant and have not been shared on this blog yet.
Enjoy the foodies pics people! Hope you guys would have a great Christmas eve!

Dropped by NBT showroom for photography session after shopping with Hubby for CNY clothes (early preparation is always good and it's sales period!
It was sooooooooo crowded even though it was already 10.30pm!
But maybe due to it's school holidays and these children just didn't feel like to sleep earlier (so naughty, Santa Claus doesn't wanna fulfill your wish list then you know~ haha)

Cafe de Paris, Gadong

Cafe de Paris is known as one of the popular restaurants for lim teh especially to night owls as it opens til late night.
It is one of the restaurants where dim sum is still available even though it's already late.
We always love to order their fried carrot cake. Although the serving portions do vary some times but it's still tasty as usual.
Cafe de Paris also serves wide varieties of rice dishes as well as noodles but due to that we always visit Cafe de Paris after we had our dinner somewhere else so we never ordered their rice dishes.
Hopefully I can have a chance to visit the restaurant to try out their rice dishes soon ^^

Akhbar Ria Restaurant, Kiulap

Some times when the clock ticks 3pm, I would tend to have the craving for roti kosong.
And this time I choosed Akhbar Ria Restaurant to ease my crave.
Akhbar Ria Restaurant has been around for years and from what I know, it has branches located in Sengkurong and Kiulap. The one that I visited recently is its Kiulap branch.
This was my second time trying out Akhbar Ria's roti kosong but due to that my previous experience was take-away food so I wouldn't judge much on that.
As I was in nearby area so I decided to drop by and dine in this restaurant.
Service was fast but the restaurant was rather hot.
Ordered a glass of Teh Tarik and it tasted really sweet.
I had roti telur while mom ordered herself roti kosong. I would say that mom's roti kosong tasted better than mine.
Their curry gravy wasn't that tasty as well which I would prefer to eat the roti without dipping in the gravy instead. Or maybe that's just me.
Overall, it wasn't that bad but I would definitely think twice before I ordered their roti telur again.

Teo Poi Hoon Restaurant, Kiulap

I used to like to visit Jenny's Beef Noodles House (Tian Mi Mi) as there were many choices to choose from and prices were friendlier than Teo Poi Hoon. I remembered I always ordered Mamik Chicken Rice in Jenny's Beef Noodles House.
But ever since it was closed, I had to turn to Teo Poi Hoon to eat my favourite dish, Mamik Chicken Rice.
Hubby once said that TPH and Jenny's Beef Noodles House has got the menu with many international dishes such as American, Sweden, Mongolian, Vietnamese and etc.
This time, my family tried out their Sweden and Mongolian Chicken rice dishes. And I ordered my favourite dish ^^
From the looks of the dishes, it seem like the Sweden Chicken Rice which bro ordered didn't look appealing as other dishes due to the colors combination.
I personally think that the Mongolian Chicken Rice dish look really attractive. I didn't try both Sweden and Mongolian Chicken rice dishes but would definitely give it a try during my next visit to Teo Poi Hoon.

Study group at The Arch

During the exam period, we had small study group at The Arch.
We actually had an exam paper in the morning before we met up in The Arch.
Thus, some of them were hungry so we ordered french fries and mee mamak.
Ein said the mee mamak was spicy to her as she is not a chili-taker. As for the fries, all of us agreed that it was yummy =)
The Arch might be a good place for group study if you sit inside the room (towards the right side of the main entrance). This is because it always has enough sunlight to shower the room. Of course, not at night because lightings at The Arch during night time is always dim ^^
