Yit Sum Restaurant, Gadong
About the author...
I still need to save money to get new car speakers as well as amplifier with higher watt =(
(i hope dad reads this! haha)
It's been awhile since we last visited Yit Sum Restaurant.
Love their vinegar braised pork trotters & bak kut teh.
Seriously, I would considered it as the best bak kut teh in town.
=)

Audio Players
It's been awhile since I last blogged about cars.
Actually, I've planned to blog about audio players quite awhile but always ended up blogging about food.
Hubby and I were looking for audio players for our cars and we actually traveled numerous of places to hunt for suitable players with reasonable prices.
And just when I thought I've found the player that I wanted to get and already started saving money for it, dad gave me a surprise.
He recently just installed a new audio player in my car (aka Baby Alex) without my acknowledgment and I only found it out after Bro informing me (yea, holidays = me rotting at home so I drive less).
So, I rushed to see what have dad done with my car and prayed hard that it's the player that I wanted.
*poooof*
It wasn't the player that I wanted.
The player that I wanted had usb port for pendrive and also input for ipod player cable but this player has none of these features.
But, I shouldn't complain anymore further especially after knowing how much dad had paid for this lovely gift.
It's waaayyyyyyyy too much better than the player I wanted.

Pioneer players

Pioneer players

Kenwood player; this is the one i planned to get.

Alpine player. Really really cool and same goes to the price =P
*drums roll*

This is the player that dad had installed.
Now you understand why I shouldn't complain and why I said it's much better than what I've planned to get haha
When asking dad what made him wanted to get this player and he answered cause my previous Kenwood player was really really really ugly -_______-||| so he decided to get this type of player to cover it up xp
p/s: Choon Ein, still remember the conversation we had in car about the audio players? hahaha we should chat more about our wishlist hahaha

Jing: Ya right~ but nvm, i guess Guest have read the msg you tagged =)
melw & Yong: yeap, it's Singapore Sling
paperclipp: still dare to mention ah! what took you so long to visit food-hungry? haha jk lar
Guest: you welcome. good luck in locating KTM canteen hehe
During one rainy night, the three of us were searching for a place to have supper but couldn't make any decision.
Then we passed by Hotmart and remembered there's a restaurant called Aneka Rasa located at the end of building so we decided to drop by and check it out.
It was our first time dining there and it seemed like the restaurant is popular with its kuih and snacks. However, it was really late when we arrived that time and Aneka Rasa doesn't serve those kuihs and snacks during night time; not even cucur pisang.
Left with no choice, we decided to order noodles. When flipping through the menu pages, I saw this "Mee Goreng 3 Abdul" and felt really curious about it.
So i asked Hubby and SKY about what is it and both of them were curious too.
SKY being brave (LOL!) decided to give it a try and later then we found out from the waitress that it's actually combination of noodle, kueh tiaw and bee hoon being fried together.
Hubby and I shared a plate of Mee Mamak.
The food actually tasted quite tasty. However, I find it too bad that the restaurant doesn't serve satay.. awwww~
Just for your information, Aneka Rasa is also popular for its buffet lunch and dinner with different types of themes daily =)

Lunch at Sumbangsih, Beribi
In the month of April, most FBEPS Year 1 students were busy with their IBE and Microeconomics reports. So was I.
After the group discussion for Microeconomics report, my team mates and I decided to settle our meal at Sumbangsih food court. It's located near to the mini Beribi-Telanai-Gadong roundabout and the newly opened Baiduri Bank.
Sumbangsih food court is a place where you can always get many choices of good food at cheaper prices.
A plate of rice with 1 type of vegetable and 1 type of meat costs merely $1.
Other than economy rice, you can also get Nasi Katok, Soto, kuih-muih and wide varieties of fritters in this food court, as well as stalls selling drinks.
During this visit, we tried the Nasi Ayam Penyet of stall 4, ABC from two different stalls and also fried kueh teow from stall 14 (if not mistaken).
I must say, I still prefer the Ayam Penyet of Tamu Selera =P

Jessica being camera-shy

Andrew and Mak; first appearance on Food-hungry!

The dining area in Sumbangsih food court

You can even get breakfast set in this food court ^^

Staff of a stall busying at work

Nasi Ayam Penyet (Biasa) from stall 4

Nasi Ayam Penyet (Pedas) from stall 4

ABC from stall 40 (must try ^^)

ABC from another stall which I forgot its stall number, however, it's not my type. I don't really like to have jagung in my ABC and also bandung....

Andrew smiling for my camera =)

Fried Kueh Teow from stall 14. Must try!!!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, BROTHERS~~~
Chee Hwa's birthday celebration at Capers
Hwa's birhtday is on 25th April and we decided to have some pasta at Capers on 26th April (which is also Shin's birthday =D ).

SKY showing Hwa the gift we bought him

Letting Hwa smell the perfume scent

The birthday card we got Hwa

Hwa reading the messages written on the card

After the dinner at Capers, we went to The Arch for lim-teh session. And when we finished lim-teh, we hopped on Hwa's car and he realised that his car just wouldn't start! Luckily SKY remembered that George had the same experience before and so he phoned George for some advices. Just awhile after talking on the phone, George arrived and tried his luck to start the engine. Surprisingly, it worked! HAHAHA thanks George! For saving us =P
Eve of SKY's birthday(12th May 2009)
We went to Tamu Selera for seafood fiesta and Sieng Yen joined us too!
Most of the dishes were ordered from Bob Ume stall, except for the Butter egg prawns. It was ordered from another stall.

SKY kept thinking that by lifting his head at slightly higher angle would make his double chin less obvious. It's still visible though =P

Butter Egg Prawns. It was charged at $2.50 per 100 grams and can be prepared in any style. However, the charges would be slightly higher if you want to cook it in Butter Egg style which is $3 per 100 grams.

Chili Crab, $15 (total of 5 crabs if not mistaken)

Sambal Fish, $16

Black Pepper Clams, $6

Black Pepper Lamb, $8

Stirred Fried Baby Kailan

Hwa enjoying his crab

Dishes that we ordered
While eating, we were watching the Indon version of Scary Movie called Film Horror and it was hilarious indeed haha oh yeah, the total of our dinner was $65.
After our dinner, we decided to go to Coffee Bean, Bandar branch for some lim teh session. No pictures cause we actually took the pictures with Hwa's camera and I haven't got it from him ^^
SKY's Birthday (13th May 2009)
SKY took a day off and since my holidays has already started so I accompanied him to have mini marathon ^^
We started off with getting some kueh from the popular kueh vendor at Pangkalan Gadong. And after that SKY suggested to visit the noodles stall near to Ocean Quarry which serves KB Fried Kueh Teow but the stall was closed. Bad timing.
Then SKY remembered KTM canteen so we headed to KTM factory immediately.

KTM factory

The canteen is actually located right next to the KTM noodles factory. It serves Halal food.

SKY looking nerdy with his black framed specs and he's holding the OIC honey green tea on his hands

Kolomee, $2

Fried Kueh Teow with Chicken, $3
After KTM, SKY was still craving for ABC so we went to Lee Loi Fatt, Kiulap. I was really full at that time and already hoisted my white flag high up the sky haha
Gift that we prepared for SKY
Surprised Cake at The Arch (13th May 2009)
The four of us met up at The Arch again last night and little did SKY know that we had actually planned to give him a surprise birthday cake few days earlier (Bro, wanna know more? ask me in MSN lar, I man-man explain to you ^^).

Watching Ice Agee 2 together in The Arch and this picture shows SKY's favourite part in the movie. Yeap, even though he is 22 but he still adores animation films.

Taurean Chicken, $5.80.

Oreo Cheesecake from Fun Bread. $25 for just 1 pound.

SKY posing happily with his birthday cake

Messy writings but the cake tasted really gooooood.

SKY playing around with the plastic knife.

Hwa dipping the cream puff with the cake, just like dipping roti kosong into the curry gravy hahaha

SKY posing with his birthday gift.
He claimed that he wouldn't dare to use this mug at home and would just keep it in his room cause he is afraid that his parents would be shocked seeing that picture on the mug hahahahaha
And Shin phoned all the way from UK to greet SKY happy birthday and they chatted quite awhile but my handphone went dead cause low batt. Sorry pals!
After finishing the cake, it was still early so the guys decided to end our outing with some pool-ing session in Master Alim. No pictures again as I was using Hwa's camera to take those pictures while we were in Master Alim. Will grab from him soon ^^
p/s: Shin, good luck with your exams ^^
