Review: It was my very first sungkai buffet experience this year and I've seen lotsa reviews regarding its buffet; be it sungkai buffet or other themes, Orchid Garden seems to receive lotsa good compliments. What's more, we are considered their loyal fans when it comes to dim sum buffet so I thought it wouldn't be that bad this time. Indeed I was right.
There were many different food stations which include soup and breads station, appetizer, roti kosong, ambuyat, desserts and so on. Just like how Ramadhan Sungkai buffet always be, it tend to have more Malay dishes and "kampung" dishes on its main courses. But Orchid Garden balanced it well by introducing dishes from other cuisines as well, such as sushi, herbal chicken, pasta, lamb chop and etc. It was considered International theme buffet but still, you could see more Malay dishes on the main course selections. There was a station serving Soup tulang I guess but I didn't try it; one of the big no no when having buffet is don't drink soup! It would make you feel full! haha jk. I didn't try it cause I was lazy to queue.
Oh, there was this station serving tempura and cha soba too but the chef was busy frying the tempura and he didn't layan me so i ended up not trying the cha soba =(
Overall: I'd give them 7 out of 10 ;)

Ambuyat, Uncle Yap said the belacan was kinda spicy but mom seemed to like it a lot.. ahh Spice Mom!
Fried fish with sambal, belacan and some healthy vegies. Dad liked it lots~
My second round. Looks good, ain't it? The sambal long bean was too spicy for my liking. Herbal chicken was gooooood so was the chicken & shrimp pattie and beancurd. The steak tasted average but its meat was tender.
Favourite of all! Lamb chops! I didn't know lamb chops were served until my last round of the buffet. And the pasta was so tasty that I couldn't resist having another round hahaha
