Sing U Me, Gadong/Menglait
Hubby brought me to Sing U Me lim teh last Sunday. Some people might get confusing, this Sing U Me is the one located near to Hainan Association and not the one near Le Apple. And seriously, it's only my second visit to the restaurant. The lo mai kai is good and it costs $2 each. As for the noodles.. i don't remember the price.. but i think it's bout $3 or $3.50.. it is just average.

Charcoal BBQ & Grill - Set Meal
Went to Charcoal for lunch yesterday with my colleagues and we all had set lunches. I personally feel that the set lunch is quite worth and it comes with drinks and fruits. Other than the set lunch promotion, Charcoal is also having Australian food promotion which ends on 16th July.
There are four different sets of set meal to choose from and we ordered pasta, tepanyaki chicken and steak sets. The pasta is a lil spicy as the sauce is cooked with chilli and the tepanyaki chicken is kinda dry cause there isn't any sauce or gravy and the vegetables are really hard to chew. The steak set looks really delicious, i must say and Champagne rated it 4/5.

Steamboat Experience at Teo Poi Hoon Foodstall, Batu Bersurat
Venue : Teo Poi Hoon Foodstall, Batu Bersurat
Theme : Steamboat buffet
Theme : Steamboat buffet
Price : $9.90 per pax and buy 5 free 1. Meaning the 6th person will be f.o.c.
Specialty : using porridge as soup base
Food : After we grabbed our seats, we were asked by the waitress about the soup base that we want. I asked for Ying-Yang but sadly it's not available in the restaurant and they do not serve Tom Yam soup base. According to the waitress there are only 2 types of soup base available which one is Chicken soup and the other is Porridge. The few of us were quite surprised and thought we heard it wrongly as we had never heard anybody steamboat with porridge as soup base before! (when not after this hehe). We weren't that confident and daring enough to try it out, but........... the waitress HIGHLY recommended us to try it out so we thought we should give it a try and after all, we are the FOOD-HUNGRY TEAM! Which we should try out all the good/bad food and share it with our fellow readers ;)
In my opinion, i feel that the porridge steamboat-ing experience was good. Not only that it's 'unique' but i also realised that porridge blends well with many types of ingredients. Ya know.. we have chicken porridge, fish porridge, carrot porridge...... and even abalone porridge. So basically this idea of using porridge as soup base for steamboat-ing is just a mixture of everything.
The annoying thing is that porridge gets burnt easily and therefore through half way of steamboat, you could smell something is burning. This is what the restaurant should try to solve. The waitresses were really friendly, kind and helpful which they asked us politely if we wanna change another pot of soup and we could choose to have chicken soup base this time. Really good service. But Sky said this could be cause there weren't many people dining in the restaurant on the night we visited so... good luck if you're going to visit it soon! hahaha
The choices of ingredients available for steamboat are quite a lot and quite fresh too (look at the pics below). We were also told that fried rice was included in the steamboat too which we could have it first while waiting for the porridge and food to be ready to serve. By the way, drinks not included.

i-sweet desserts house @ Giant - Part 2
Right after dinning in Chempaka restaurant with Sky and Lieng, we headed to i-sweet immediately to get ourselves desserts. Tried out i-sweet's fruit salad (which is new on menu) and it was good ;)
Like usual, the staffs were friendly and Boss was so generous enough to let us sampling their new dish on menu, Special Spicy Fish balls. The boss highly recommended it to us. He described that the spiciness of the fish balls would numb your tongue and mouth, true indeed. The taste isn't like when you're eating wasabi or chili... it's slightly different as you wont really feel the 'hotness' but 'numbness'.
However, maybe cause of the chili powder that they used, i feel that the fish balls have weird taste, really weird taste. So i would say it's just average only. But the boss really didn't lie about the 'numbness'. We really felt it.
