One day after gym, Shin suggested us to try out the "Suan Cai Mi Fen" (酸菜米粉) in Champagne Restaurant. She wanted to eat so badly and since SC and I have never try it before so we both agreed and headed straight to Champagne Restaurant.
We know it's not good to eat right after exercise and i know we sound so desperate hahaha Champagne Restaurant is located in Gadong which is somewhere near to Dave's Agency, the car dealer... ahhh its the building next to Ayamku by the way.
I know that Champagne used to be a hot spot for people to enjoy their lim-teh session and really popular among people but it's not like this anymore. I'm not sure what happened but it seems like less and less people is mention about this restaurant and some actually didn't know its existence at all (this restaurant has operates for many years! since i was still in elementary school!). This is why i was really surprised after hearing Shin's suggestion.
If i'm not mistaken, it's a Foo Chow dish and it uses thick vermicelli instead of the ones which we could get it in supermarket like Babu Kitchen or Cap Limau. Suan Cai is actually Chinese sauerkraut which is something like pickled cabbage and obviously, it tastes sour. Although it is a bit oily but still tasty and i'll definitely make a next visit to the restaurant again as i heard their fried kueh teow is not bad too.
Ohh btw, below pics were taken using Nokia N95.
