Food Zone Restaurant, Kiulap

Venue: Food Zone Restaurant

Location: Kiulap, same block as Misato, Manjaro and Hock Tire (it actually used to be D'Aprils)

Food: The signature dishes would be the dim sum and it costs $9 for 5 varieties. We (my ex-colleagues) were there months ago for lunch and we thought that dim sum wouldn't satisfied our growling tummies so we decided to try out the other food on their menu. I must say, the meal ended with disappointment. First, it was the rice. Too sticky and soft. Quite 'geli' to swallow it. Second, the soup. Bowls of plain soup were served with the rice and it tasted really really bad. Macam some detergent taste or what. This was months ago and till now, i haven't make any revisit yet. It had been a really bad experience for me.

Service: Can't really remember cause it was many months ago.

Price range: Too expensive! Seriously, $5 for a plate of chicken rice? I don't think I'd order it but if anyone of you guys have tried it out, please let me know if the portion is a lot or not. I wanna know if it really worth $5.

actually the chicken rice is just like the normal chicken rice portion. it's not really worth $5 at all. I think the reason they "force" people to pay $5 is because it comes with a bowl of soup with 2 fish balls in it, a small saucer of acar and a saucer of soy sauce, chicken rice chili and ginger& green onion. so they think all those extra frills are worth people paying extra $ for. They should give an option of whether people want to pay $5 for the frills or just have their normal chicken rice for $3.
