Tian Mi Mi, Kiulap (3)

During this visit, we tried out the restaurant's set meal which consists of 3 dishes and 1 soup and it's only $22 per set, which is enough for 3 persons (they also have $18 set available which is enough for 2 persons). There are many different sets available and which come with different menu. We ordered another extra dish which is Butter egg prawns because uncles said they were starving =P
And i saw few familiar faces during this visit =)

To me, i think this is quite cheap and also you won't waste too much time on making decision as it comes in a set. We didn't wait long for the food to arrive. Quite impressed with their speed as there were many other patrons in the restaurants at the same time too. Something which I would like to complain is that the Sweet and Sour Pork is too sour.

Kuala Lurah, Limbang

I went to Limbang weeks ago with family and on our way returning to Brunei, we stopover at Kuala Lurah's 'canteen' for dinner. Okay okay, i admit, other than stuffing our tummies, the other reason we stopped by is to 'cut' queue =D
Most people go there to drink and it would be so lame and out if I don't drink.
But the problem is, I really can't drink... so how?
Thank goodness, there is Shandy in this world haha
All of us ordered Shandy, except for dad. He had Carlsberg.
We bumped into Wee's family and all i can say is that his grandma is a super duper cool grandma! *wink*
I don't why people always say KL's chicken wings is nice.. we ordered 2 plates of chicken wings and it's not my type.. it's dry and tasteless. True that it's really crispy but the wings are too small and taste really bland.
So is the grilled sotong. Very hard to chew. I've tasted even better one in Brunei.
As for the fried kueh teow with char siew (BBQ Pork), it's not bad. Very Chinese style. I'm saying this cause all the workers we saw in that stall are mostly Bisayah or Dusun.
If you wanna buy alcohol drinks in KL to bring back to Brunei, just asked for the catalogs. They have catalogs with pictures of different types and brands of alcohol drinks printed and as well as the prices in either RM or BND.
Nowadays, the vendors would not give the buyers the declare forms. You would need to get it yourself from the custom officers.

There are many stalls in the KL's 'canteen' and we visited the first stall counting from the left. By the way, the boss wears spectacles hehe

KFC, Yayasan Branch

Hubby had the sudden crave on fried chicken and on that night, he brought me to the Yayasan KFC branch. We ordered the KFC Mini Bucket which consists of cheesy wedges, 1 coleslaw, 1 mashed potato, 4 pieces of fried chicken (2 O.R and 2 spicy) and 2 drinks. And it costs $11.90 per bucket.
Although spicy chicken has got crispier skin than O.R chicken but i still prefer O.R chicken. It tastes better.
We also ordered Half-half Meltz and it's delicious! It has become the must-order-food during my every visit to KFC nowadays.

Korean Restaurant (Part 3), Kiulap

My third visit to Korean restaurant, with SC.
We ordered a popular Korean dish called Bibimbap which literally means "mixed rice".
The rice is served on stone pot and the pot is really hot.
The vegetables (vegie, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts) and chicken are hidden under the rice. The rice is topped with an egg. The ingredients are supposed to be stirred together thoroughly before eating. While stirring, you can smell the strong fragrance of sesame oil which I believe, was spread on the pot before the rice is placed in the pot.

Thailand Trip : 22nd Nov 2007 - 25th Nov 2007 : Last Day

Before we checked out from hotel, we used the free welcome drink vouchers to get ourselves free drinks.

After checking out, we hopped on the van which we rented to airport. Below are few pictures of Thailand's new international airport.

After checking in, we found a restaurant and decided to settle our lunch there.
The restaurant is called Fortune Corner and next to it is another restaurant serving Japanese food called Fukuju-An. Both restaurants share the same management so you can order from both restaurants and charge under same bill.

Aunt and me both ordered ice lemon tea and when the drinks came, she took a sip and started complaining that her drink is so sour. I took a sip of my drink and I found the answer why is her drink so sour, cause my drink is super duper sweet and we suspected that the people who made the drink added sugar twice more than usual to my drink and forgot about aunt's drink.

California maki. Very expensive. Only four pieces.

One thing i'd like to mention is that, we noticed something unusual which can't be found in Brunei restaurants.. the waitresses in both these two restaurants use PDA to take the ordering.
Very toh-kong haha

Below is the picture of the duty free outlets. There are so many things you can get here, perfumes, cosmetics, facial products, chocolates, wines and other alcoholic drinks and also Thai snacks such as BBQ pork and dried mango.
There are also many cafes and fast food stalls inside the departure hall and i really regret for spending such long time on choosing perfume and i missed out trying Thailand's Burger King.. =(
Don't worry if you're scared that the custom officers would not let the perfume or cosmetics that you've just bought from the duty free outlets to get through, the staffs in the duty free outlets would seal the perfume for you with your receipt attached inside the plastic bag. When doing payment, your passport would be needed and your information would be printed on the receipt. I guess this is for the custom check. If you're thinking of buying any alcohol drinks back, make sure that you know the limits of bringing the drinks back to our country as I witnessed a lady (i think she is Thai or tourist from China.. we didn't understand her language haha) and she brought a big bottle of XO and while the custom officers told her that they couldn't let her to get on board with that big bottle of XO, the lady kick a really big fuss, screaming, shouting at the custom officers and in the end she turned and walked away. XO ler.... we could understand how she felt that time.. tsk tsk tsk

Only two choices available, Sweet and sour fish with noodles and Teriyaki Chicken.
Both taste awful hahaha but the Thai style vermicelli (appetizer) was really nice that i helped my parents to finish their shares haha and the cake was nice too. I got Banana cake while parents each got Coffee Cake. Nice Nice~

Thailand Trip : 22nd Nov 2007 - 25th Nov 2007 : Day 3 - Dinner

We walked to Central World Plaza from our hotel and it took us about 10-15mins to reach our destination. There are many restaurants in Central Plaza which include Chinese Cuisine, Japanese, Korean and Western Cuisine. We had our dinner at Grand Sanyod Cantonese Cuisine.

After dinner, we walked around the plaza and later Jia Hui manja-ed that she wanted to have Starbucks (okay, i must say this, she had been mentioning it since a few days before we departed to Bangkok. Throughout the trip you could only hear this coming out from her mouth - Starbucks *tsk tsk tsk*)

Jia Hui's dream is finally fulfilled

So after Starbucks, we walked out the building and saw this - pic below

CONCERT! Errmm, no.. haha it's just a live band performance to entertain the guests who purchased drinks from them. This whole area is for Sing Ha drinkers. And just right next to this, is an area for Heineken drinkers and of course, a stage for Heineken's live band performers. And you see no wrong, other than enjoying your beer with live band performers to entertain you, you can also catch the live soccer game shown on the projector =D
It would be a really good experience but too bad I don't drink and there were just too many people and you could see people queuing up for a seat.

There were also many merchant stalls along the road side

That day happened to be the day for celebrating Thai's traditional festival, Loy Krathong. There was this competition of Loy Krathong rafts in our hotel and were later displayed in lobby. I took this picture when we returned to hotel.
