Chap Goh Meh, pronounced in Hokkien which means the 15th day on the first month of Lunar Calendar. It can also be known as Lantern Festival (according to Hubby) and there will be lotsa activities especially riddles or quizs competition, which will usually hold in public and let everyone gather together and play the game, it's a tradition. BUT......! All these don't happen in Brunei.. >.< Chap Goh Meh, we would host family gathering to gather every members of the family for dinner to spend the last day of Chinese New Year together.
Chap Goh Meh is also known as "Yuan Xiao" which also means it's a day for all the family members to gather together n have decent meal before everyone splits or people leaving the hometown to work in the town or city.
This year we had Stadium Restaurant as our caterer and we ordered the $9 package which includes 6 dishes (included rice and noodles) and fruits but we exchanged the fruits with dessert, Chilled Beancurd with Longan.
Here are the menu :
The food was alright and i think if only the Asam Fish was lil bit more spicy, it would taste a lot better. The fried mee was highly recommended by the elders and i personally like the Buttermilk Chicken. Hubby's favourite food of the night was Fried Mee and i saw him craving lotsa vegies ^.* Good Baby~
Oh well, he did enjoy the dessert too. Luckily that nobody suggested to order satay cause i really had a lot of satay during CNY gatherings.. if not i would become Anti-Satay >.< Hunnie Signing Off~
